LILAH THE CRAFTER!

Meet Lilah, the eight year old artist and crafter! She is in Mrs. Jones’s second grade and loves to write, do soccer and gymnastics, and hang out with friends in her free time. Lilah’s favorite project is making fortune tellers for her family. She crafts almost every day and she draws, sews, makes things out of paper. She even does make your own lip balm and markers!

Lilah loves crafting so much she teaches her friends and family to! The little things she makes are usually cute paper toys. “ I love to make thing for other people too!” Lilah to the Bolton Blog. Her favorite subject is art and loves to do step by step drawings with her little brother.

If you want to know more about Lilah and her creativity just ask her in the halls and on the playground! We hope you love all the crafty things she does!

Sophie-Soccer Star

Our school has so many kids with special talents. And one of the special talents  is…. SOCCER!!! So we went and interviewed a great soccer star: SOPHIE!!! Sophie plays for Southridge and RTC. She is the center forward, and she is number 5 for Southridge, and doesn’t have a number for RTC. She chose number 5 because it is her favorite number and favorite age. She has practice everyday. For 15 minutes she practices doing drills in a cone square. Then she practices getting around the lash defender. And finally she participates in the team’s soccer competition. She has a game every weekend, and a winter tournament. This year they came third in the tournament, but came first last year. Even though Sophie is a great soccer player, she is always nervous before her game. But when she listens to her mom’s advice, and thinks about what Alex Morgan would do she feels better. One day Sophie hopes to be like Alex Morgan, and maybe you’ll see her in the WUSA.

OBOB time

                                                                                        OBOB

It is time for a yearly activity! It is OBOB.  OBOB stands for Oregon Battle of the Books.  Readers form teams of 4-5 people and read 16 books. The books are new each year. Then the teams use their knowledge of the books to answer difficult questions about the titles. Sadly , the time to sign up has past. Battles start January 23. Students can come and watch but must not shout answers.  We hope you come watch the students compete!  Eventually 16 teams will make it to the school finals and the winning team goes to the regional championship!

If you have any questions ask Mrs. Tibbs, the librarian or Mrs. King.
